Hi all, looking for some advice or maybe a reality check I’m not sure! I’ got my raid up and running last year and have starting using the bike for green laning. most of the time this requires riding for 30-60mins to meet up with others and get to the dirty stuff. The bike is fantastic and more competent than me for sure and is generally running and riding really well.
I have however noticed that 6th gear seems to be useless, in that the bike seems to struggle to maintain pace in 6th gear and will actually lose speed on even the slightest of inclines. changing back down to 5th improves things and it’ll recover the lost speed and pull up the hill. in general the bike pulls well through all other gears It’s just lacklustre in 6th
is this normal? I realise that’s it’s a 250 so I don’t expect much performance past 60mph and for the large part its more Important it’s good at the lower speeds I’m doing off road, I was just curious to know if this is normal or not and if not what the cause might be. I have had the exhaust off and can see the restrictor has been removed and also i removed a bit from the inside of the airbox snorkel after having read the uncorking guide.

On my Raid, i have 14/44 gearing with 520, which is pretty close to 18/57. At least from my experience, the sixth gear doesn't offer much it terms of power. It seems more of a cruising gear for high speeds, in order to keep almost the same speed as before but have lower revs so that the engine can stay healthy and the fuel consumption stays low.
