Heavy rider around 105 to 110 kg, and I travel with estimate 15kg of kit, it's fair to say that I'm heavy for the stock setup.
Seems hard to find suitable springs, strongly considering using hyperpro progressive springs, figure they will help to cope with damping.
Hyperpro offer a kit for 1999 to 2006 models...
Bike is-hard to lock down, significantly painted and I don't have a year but it's a raid (round headlight), rear shock seems to be from an oe (yellow spring) and I've already measured and confirmed that the rear spring dimensions are the same as hyperpro spring. However, I need to confirm whether raid fork springs are the same as the later models.
Sorry for the long read, the key questions:
1. Can my raid use hyperpro fork springs for the later models
2. Has anyone tried hyperpro kit in their ttr and how does it perform for them.
There are some differences in the Raid forks, but I can't remember what they are. All the info is here on the forum somewhere, just sometimes difficult to put your finger on it! Could try the FAQs page?
Lol i have crawled through a lot of the FAQ pages, nothing so far
Annoyingly, I hit google searches referencing hyperpro on these boards, but when i follow the link to the thread, never find hyperpro mentioned.
The bike provenance is a mystery, seems like an orphan , the frame code is 3PR001876, which seems unlike any other in all the listnings, this site and others....bit stumped
Hmmm, 3PR does lead nowhere doesn't it!
What is the free length of your Raid springs? Inner and outer diameters? If the physical dimensions are broadly similar, there is no reason why they won't fit, just a case of how much sag you get. It does seem a bit experimental, but stiffer springs will make a difference to how the front behaves for sure. Changing oil weight and height will also alter the damping characteristics once you have the sag sorted. Sorry I can't help more.
