Charging problem
Permalink

I have a blue tank ttr 250. The bike does not charge the battery, i have changed the rectifier, checked the voltage at the battery with the engine running. no increase of voltage as  engine revs up. checked the connections. The bike will last a days ride if i charge the battery.

I suspect it is the stator, can i check it? I have read west country windings are very good.

How hard  is it to remove the stator if needed, also i guess i will need a new gasket ,

Any advice would be helpful.

Have you removed each pin connector from the plastic plug that connects to the rectifier? Mine had one corroded, I couldn't clean them well enough/they looked okay whilst they were still in the plastic plug itself. After that my voltage was healthy.
