I am replacing my fork seals on a 2006 blue tank TTR

The bottom 14mm alan bolt was very tight, i have loosened it but it just keeps turning and don't screw out. the forks are all apart but unable to remove the damper rod or inner tube. should the 14mm hex bolt come out,

The advice in my guide is to "Push down hard on forks and loosen this 14mm hex nut on the base valve (6) of both forks before dismantling. Access to a "windy" or "rattle" gun will make this job  easier."

As you forks are out, can you take them to someone with a windy gun perhaps?

Thanks Brian

I have managed to loosen it but it just spins round and don't unscrew, also it don't tighten up it  i am thinking that something has sheered off, will it be ok to use like this.

You definitely need to have it tight for riding! An air or battery rattle gun as Brian suggests should do the job - your friendly local bike mechanic or car garage should be able to do it, for a small fee. The inner part of the fork (part of the damping assembly) is rotating as you turn the bolt. It is normal, and a pain in the butt! When you rebuild it, make sure the threads of the bolt are clean, no old dry thread lock left over, and it should wind in ok and start to grab, allowing you to tighten the bolt. Alternatively, the rattle gun comes out again (low power setting) and it will do-up fine.

If you are desperate, put the fork leg in the vice, gently, and use a spanner, small hammer or screwdriver handle to tap the allen key round in small steps. You are trying to "shock" the bolt into moving round in small stages. This might, if you are lucky, have the same effect as the rattle gun.

Good luck!

I have managed to sort the problem, the tube that the bottom hex bolt goes into was turning.
Now it's apart I can see how it grips like a raw bolt.
Thanks for your help guys, next time I Will try the easy way with air pressure.
