I bought this bike from a friend 11 years ago with 1800 miles on after doing extensive research looking for a light air cooled ,carbureted, kick and electric start ,economical bike capable of cruising on the road at 55/60mph -it now has 11735 miles recorded, and has never failed to disappoint me . I have all MOTs to verify mileage. If you are reading this you probably know what you are looking for but check out Robin Webb's adventures on a TTR250.
This bike was used by my friend to follow his wife around cross country horse riding events and to assess the course prior to riding- all on very easy country lanes.
I purchased this bike with the intention of doing a few overland trips abroad which never materialised, fully modifying the bike with a 23 litre Acerbis tank (available if required ). The bike has never been off road in my ownership, and served me very well as a light agile road bike locally in the UK showing good reliability and economy (80 + mpg ) .
The bike is equipped with TKC 80 continentals -the rear is new, which I find ideal on rural roads for my style of riding (slow).The bike has had recent chain and sprockets ,brake pads front and rear, and a new front disc. A magnetic sump plug is fitted and the oil has been changed every 500 mile regardless-its such a small quantity and easy to do.
Purely as a precaution and in preparation for great adventures the sprag clutch unit was replaced at approximately 8000 mile -with bills to prove from Totally TTRs.
Whilst not as new the bike is in very good condition for its age and the photographs really do not do it justice, the bike sailed through its MOT yesterday and is a joy to ride.
The bike has all the hard to find original bits -indicators ,pillion grab handles,pillion foot rests seat grab strap, and engine protection bars. Both keys are present with the bike.
Being of short legs I fitted the bike with a lowering link from Totally TTRs-all original parts come with the bike to return to standard if required.
I am simply not using this bike any more and will not be using it for the its intended purpose. I am asking £1850.
