Bike stalls on extremly steep downhills
Permalink

My bike really runs perfect , but when I go down steep hills (like so steep I'm skidding on two wheels and really cant stop) , the bike will flood out , I have to open the throttle a bit to get to start again. I really don't know what it could be , possibly float level ? I have never had an issue like this with any other bike. Has anyone had a similar experience ?

I noticed mine stalls on steep down hills but when there steep enough for a bit of fuel to work it's way out of the petrol cap .

I just avoid the steep down hills

I went to the Yamaha experience day in Wales and mine did this on the steepest downhill they took us down. When I was in first it cut out as I think I was moving too slowly/revs too low with the clutch out. As soon as I went up to second with the clutch out the recs were high enough to keep it running.

Not sure if this is similar to what you mean?

I got it figured out , my accelerator pump was all dried out and it was allowing fuel to run through it and into the intake on the extreme steep hills

Well done - a clever diagnosis!
