I'm fitting one, with a CRD shorty header, to mine.
It currently doesn't have a dB killer, which I do plan to address.

Did you need any carb alterations? With or without the dB killer.

The only other alteration is removal of the snorkel.

I'm searching through and this is the first 'staintune' thread I've found.

No modification to the carby, Staintune did say that some rejetting may be required but I had no issues.

Thanks Terry.
I've just got onto them, dB killer is in the mail. $90. Hopefully, when it's back together again, I wont get a head ache riding it.

It's been in pieces for the past fortnight when the starter died. Fixed that with a new brush holder, then the O ring leaked. Ended up waiting for a genuine O ring in the hope it seals properly.

The DB killer takes the bark out but better than the standard baffle

Why is the mesh sock on the outlet?  Not that I have the mesh sock.

The knob end fits into the exhaust, with the polished tube bit hanging out.

At least that's the way I inserted it.

OK I searched high & low & found the baffle that came with the muffler when I bought it new, I have attached two photos, as I thought it is in back to front & it not the one they sold me with the mesh, the taper end goes to the rear.  I guess you could add some mesh like mine to shut it up a bit.

The way I have it install has the polished section of the baffle exposed. That's why I installed it that way.

My first thought was that it would go the opposite way. I thought that it would quieten it by restricting and sending noise pulses back towards the engine.

I did only install it the way it is because of the polished end. And, I've found so many things that have been counter intuitive.

When I got the improved baffle from Staintune I will admit I was disapointed to say the least but it did make it quieter with a small very small reduction in power, should be easy for you to modify the baffle
