I have been in contact with Hagon Shocks about them developing a rear shock for the TTR for a while now. Today I dropped my bike off for the work to begin. I will get it back in around 2 weeks and keep you all updated on how it goes.

I picked up the bike this week. New development shock fitted.
I wont have time to do any test rides as I am in the middle of a house extension project. It does however feel a lot less spongy just sitting on it and from all of the positive posts about their shock on the CRF I am pretty sure it will be night and day.
It wont be ready for sale as an off the shelf shock until early next year but I will keep you posted when I know more.
Sorry to jump in, don't mean to tread on your toes but as soon as I saw you mentioned Hagon a few weeks ago I emailed them separately.
They provided this reply:
"The costs of our replacement units will be £340.00 inc vat and would eb built to each customers rider weight. Featuring spring preload adjustment ( via C spanner ) along with a single circuit compression / rebound damping facility also.
Assembled with a stainless steel damper body and fitted with a Black powder coated spring, the shock has 110mm of travel"
I think the shock looks great, with 110mm travel I am unsure how that translates to actual rear wheel movement compared to the standard unit. Looking forward to here how it performs off-road!

The blue TTR models have 105mm of travel. The other important dimension is the overall length of the shock (upper mounting bolt centerline to lower mounting bolt centerline) which is about 450mm (17.73 inches) for the blue TTR models.

Whilst I was happy that the original shock, it could manage to take me anywhere and I was pretty happy with it, however I found it couldn't cope if I opened up and rode hard. The back end would bounce up like a donkey and try and kick me off. I feel that this new one will cope much better. (it cant be worse!)
I have also just carried out a USD KYB open cartridge fork conversion so hopefully I am on the right track.
Sorry still doing the house extension so not had much time to myself to do much testing.
I have been out on one ride so far. Reference the rear shock: night and day off road, so much better than stock. old shock would bounce back up quite hard, this one just keeps the bike level where it should be and soaks everything up.
reference the KYB forks. Yes I have done this. I had to change its springs for my weight though. I would say the bike looses some of the very gentle road manners and becomes like any modern enduro bike on the road sections.... a bit more bouncy and a bit skitish. I am at the moment trying to sort that part out with small changes. Off road however again night and day........ mega plush and soaks up everything just like a modern enduro does.

Wilburs do a high end shock with high speed and low speed compression and rebound damping. But about twice that price but can vouch it works really well.
Yes I went down that route first. I double checked with them the actual measurements and they were way off. They did say that they would take the info down but hey they havent.
I must say though................ going back to the Hagon shock. I have really tested it now, it is night and day compared to the standard shock. I quite often go for it to re live my youth! and it can now handle everything that I can throw at it and not once has it caught me out.
It comes set to your weight so it is literally plug and play.
Hi, just bought a ttr, went to adjust rebound tonight, jammed solid, after gently freeing it off oil spewed out all over. I'd be keen to know the part no for the hagon shock so I can order.
