Sprayed with penetrating fluid tried ring spanner and hammer, tried knocking it round with cold chisel, not budging so far. Scared to end up with a much bigger problem....

Thanks in advance of any help.

Cheers

John

I would refer you to this thread where most suggestions have been made!

ttr250.activeboard.com/t64187496/sump-plug-issues-mega-thread-plug-stuck-in-threads-stripped-/

Make sure when you are striking the plug with a chisel that the angle of attack is not too steep - I mean hit sideways, don't put too much force into the crankcase - that WOULD be a disaster.

I like the small pipe wrench method (also called Stilson wrench)

If all else fails, first drill a hole down the centre of the plug, then grind nearly all the head and skirt of the plug away (VERY carefully so as not to damage the sealing surface) Now hammer a torx bit into the hole and if you're lucky it will unscrew. Might help to heat the crankcase gently.

Good luck!
