Hi

so I need help I bought this TTR 250 from my brother and the carb is shot. Does anyone know where I can purchase a new one? I have searched every where and I am not willing to pay $400 for a new one. Any help is appreciated.

Why do you believe its shot?  Unless it has been physically broken or is severely worn, a thorough cleaning and rebuild usually brings them back to life.

i think our ttr god brian ttr fan overhauled some carburettors recently he may do a exchange unit for your old carb but may sell you one outright

Hey Jeff so I took the whole carb apart and cleaned it up. The only thing I can’t get in with the rebuild kit is the Pilot screw at the bottom of the bowl. It threads but when I put the spring, washer, o-ring I can’t get it to thread. Any advice?

Thanks

Athena

Hi Athena and welcome to the forum!

The O ring on your air screw doesn't look right. This is how it should look when fitted.

If you are using an All Balls kit that wasn't puchased through Totally TTRs then the O ring will be too small. Steve includes the correct O ring with the kit he sells - see here

Hey Athena.

Steve at Totally TTR's is a godsend for our beloved TT-R250's.  He has all the specialty parts that the retail shops in the states do not carry such as these pilot screw O-rings, oil filter housing O-rings, and decompressor plug replacements.

In the meantime, if your original pilot screw and O-ring is in decent shape with no cracks, you can re-use the original pilot screw assembly until your new O-ring arrives.
