Hello,

Recently refitted indicators to bike, they currently just stay on permanently when operated. 

have tried led ones and standard ones, both the same.

Have bought a new relay to try, still no luck.

There is also no indicator tell tale up front, bulb new 

wondered if there’s any common wiring faults to check?

Hi Dan

Does the indicator switch operate each pair independently but each pair (not all 4) stay on?

It's not a common fault as such but owners have experienced problems if they aren't using the correct wattage bulbs with the matching flasher unit. 

What is the wattage of your bulbs and what does it say on the side of the flasher relay Dan?

The blue TTRs use a two-pin flasher like this.

Hi Brian,
Yes, once operated just the one side illuminates.
Have tried 2 sets, first ones are led and 21w. These are with a universal led relay, 12v and variable wattage from 0.6-150w
The second are the standard large indicators, paired with the standard relay, still get the same fault.
Which leads me to thinks it’s a wiring fault, rather than a component, also no bulb illumination on display once in use?

No a common problem 

If you turn the indicator on and one side lights up. Might pay to check by pulling the plug off the flasher unit the lights should go off then back on when reconnected.  If so the wiring should be  OK. 

The indicator light on the dash is wired to each side earthing out through which ever side side isn't on. 

I use leds and a universal flasher unit (cheap eBay and it has a buzzer in it lol)

If I leave them on and remove plug, they stay on, sounds like a wiring fault then, possibly shorting or earthing on the frame somewhere?

check all your earth connections plus check each individual live feed to lamps & earth connections bulbs say 10w 12v 10 watt john

The flasher  unit supplies the switch if they stay on with the unit unplugged it looks like the switch may have another positive  feed .
