My girlfriend has nearly got her ttr250 raid ready for the mot but the one thing being a pain is the front brake light.
The rear brake is fine so we know the rear is okay. The if I replace the front switch (with an aftermarket) it makes no difference.
I disconnected the electrical block connector and it did not switch the light on so I connected both points using a wire, hoping it would illuminated but with no luck.
All my earths ( rear of starter/near rectifier) are good.
Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions on where to look next?
Like I said, its the only thing left for to MOT and it would be great to sort soon as we have some time off work and it would be great to introduce her to a few byways.
Thanks for reading, look forward to receiving pointers that I really should have been smart enough to check myself! Haha
As John says - the wires coming up to the bars - is there power in one, or does the other one have continuity to the bulb holder? At least you'll know then if your looking at a bad feed or a bad "earth" to the bulb.
I can't remember if there's another junction block further down. The front and rear wires must join somewhere under the seat area to feed power to the bulb. Tank off and start stripping off tape I'm afraid
Good luck. Glad it's back together anyway. Well done.
So I found another issue.... I couldn't start the bike whilst in gear, even with the clutch in. Turns out the clutch and front brake sensors plugged into the wrong blocks, despite one being brown and one black.... I guess thats what you get for rushing.
Anyway, the girlfriend (Roberta) took her raid to get mot'd and it passed without any issue.
Next on the list is to sort a few minor issues, paint the rack at sort out cleaning the white plastics somehow.
