First ride on the TTR since I stripped it last week, I was chasing a handling issue mainly on turn in, I had checked the swingarm for movement, checked the steering head bearings, tried different tyres etc.
After riding the bike last week I stripped the steering, the lower steering bearings were buggered. Anyhow I reassembled this week with new bearings.
Good news the TTR is back to normal & handling a treat, I rode blacktop, twin track, single track & dry weather roads. I rode down one track of wet clay for around four kms, was hard work but got through without dropping the bike.
Couple of photos from today, clocked up 135kms in total.
Satisfying to solve an issue like that - so many variables. Sounds like a good test run, but I'd hardly call that dirty!
Was a bit tricky, up in the air on the stand with the wheel in it felt fine, it was while braking it was real bad, loading up the lower bearing, on the stand with the wheel out I could feel it.
Glad it's back to normal, thought it might have just been me but no there was a problem after all.
It is dirty for me, we don't have a lot of mud here thank god, just not used to it but wet clay is like ice.
Glad you worked out the steering issue. Your bike looks great! I would love to have a street legal TTR here in the states. Some states do allow dirt bikes to be modified for street use, but my home state requires that the bike be sold as street legal by the manufacturer.

Cheers Jeff, Here in Australia they have to meet ADR's ( Australian design rules ) all the Blue TTR's sold here were legal. But in saying that DRZ400E, WR250R, WR250F & WR450F are all legal as well.
Back in 1982 I bought a new XR250RC ( 1st of the pro link ) it met the ADR's for noise & braking, it did not have a battery, no brake light, no high / low headlight, no indicators. no steering lock or key switch.
I have seen plenty of videos on youtube from the USA of guys riding MX bikes in various areas, not sure if they have a permit ?
Did a ride with the lads yesterday on the TTR, felt this slight clunk every now & then, thought the steering head bearings might have bedded in, checked it out this morning & yes they required adjusting, re-adjusted & back together, will keep an eye on it & see what happens.
