No battery charging ...

Hi guys

Now the fun begins ... I'm trying to find some more voltage on battery than 12,5V ... when engine is running.

Does anybody know that stator coil should or shouldn't have a shortcut to it's case/ground ?

I think on my TTR one of tree stator circuits has a puncture to the housing.

I measured all coils, between them, they seems to be ok - but when I check every coil to housing there's something very strange because one of them seems to be shorted to the housing (has 0,4Ω).

Rest of them has 1.6Ω between them and between separate to housing.

Regards

Konrad

Pretty sure the AC coils  shouldnt be grounded

Sounds like you might be on the right track

As long as you have checked the fuse is OK

The voltage should climb with revs and max out at around 14.2volts

Leaves the AC coils or the regulstor/rectifier .or dodgy wiring

Number one below AC coils

Number two reg/rect

Finally yesterday I took apart the stator housing ... and found root cause of circuit puncture.

Cable was touching stator housing here:

Repaired broken cable insulation with this tape:

Now stator has right resistance like in the book! There is no punctures to housing.

Job done! Charging works very well now, in meantime I have changed also voltage regulator witch wasn't necessary to be sure that everything is good and new.
