1. My Raid is an import first registered 13 Feb 2002 on an "L" plate, the frame number is 4GY 030147. Looking at the FAQ section on ttr250.com this shows it to be a 94/95 model, Yet the "L" plate is for 1993
The speedo is electronic and in KPH and it looks like its a Japanese import (https://bikeswiki.com/Yamaha_TT-R250)
Can you confirm I've got this correct and any idea why the plate would be "L" rather than "M" or "N"?

In the absence of certainty they will date it at earliest manufacture date for that model when applying for the V5.
All the metal tankers are "grey imports" as far as I'm aware. The blueys - plastic tank models - started in 2000 and were imported officially to the UK.
