Hi, I recently got my 1997 open enduro and shortly after i noticed oil leaking from down near the starter and front sprocket, I don’t know heaps about motorbikes and I was looking for some help, Maybe someone’s had a leak in the same area?

There’s a cable or something that runs up from near the starter that looks quite damaged.

I’ve attached some photos with the leak area circled in red.

Any help would be appreciated :)

Update: I’ve noticed this broken rubber seal, I think it’s the cause of the leak, Hopefully it’s just the seal and nothing major!!!!!

I’ve worked out that it’s the gasket for the stator cover, I’m about to buy a new one but the ones on ebay say they’re for ttr250 1999, 2000, 2001 and so on, Will it fit my 1997 stator cover?

Well done for working that out. Yes - all models use the same gasket. TTR250s were only imported by the States from 1999 for a few years so many parts are only listed for that period.
