Hello.

This winter i prepared the bike for the new season, which apparently will be delayed .

What i done is

Changed oil and filter

Installed Tubliss front and rear,d952 front tire,d606 rear tire, with sealant

New oil cap

Rebuild shock, swingarm linkage, forks service including seals.

Rebuild both calipers and fitted new pads

Added a usb charger

rhs from a zx9r so i can switch off the headlight.Wired in relays and some 10w led high beam spot lights. Now i can have both low and high beam on.

Replaced control cables with longer

Added 30mm risers from sw-motech

Added an fuel filter

Most parts from totallyttrs.

The rear shock had one shim less on the rebound side. And i forgot the copper washer on one fork leg,it doesn't leak yet. Also my fork base valves are not adjustable as they should be.

Apart from all of these i took it for a ride and now i have suspension! It rides very well now.But i found i have an oil leak from the head gasket!Any hints?Should i just order a new head gasket?

Some pics and a short video! Thanks!

That's looking very nice, Spyrious.

But why would you want dip and main beam on together? confuse

The video shows that Greece has some nice trails. Perhaps a little dry but there's nothing wrong with that.

In Devon we've had about 3 storms - one after the other - and rain every other day.

Some nearby counties have been flooded for weeks - no dry trails to follow at all. no

I'll write it again because everything is lost in this thread.
What i've done this winter on the bike
Changed oil and filter
New oil Fill cap
Installed Tubliss Gen 2 on both wheels,d952 front and d606 rear tires with sealant
Rebuild Shock, shock mounts, swingarm linkage and forks
Replace control cables with longer
Sw-motech 30mm risers
Rebuild calipers and installed new pads
Added fuel filter
Opened carb to clean it ,but wasn't needed
Replaced the rhs with a unit from a zx9r.Redid some wiring and used 2 relays to power the headlights.I now can run both low and high beam on when needed, and switch them off.
Added a usb charger.
Most parts bought from totallyttrs.

The shock had one shim less on the rebound side.I forgot the base valve copper washer on one fork leg,it doesn't leak yet.
My fork base valves are not adjustable as they should be.
I took it for a ride and now i have a nice responsive suspension!
I found out that it has an oil leak from the head gasket!Should i just replace the gasket or is there something else to check?
Some pics and a short video

 Thanks!

When i had them only low or high beam on,i could see that well. And because they are low power leds, they do not cause any problem.

Yes its dry.In the last years it has some long dry periods with almost no rain at all,and then it rains in one day what in normally rained in a month. This winter was very calm ,too little snowfall also.

Looks tidy. Nice switch modification.
Where is the oil leak? Sure it's not the old decompressor plug problem running down below the exhaust port?

Thanks mossproof. No decompressor plug was changed.I thought at first this was the leak. Its leaking between the cylinder and the cylinder head.

Another video. This is my first attempt at fitting tubliss to the rear tire.It was a very painful task.I thought the front would be easier, but only slipping the rim inside the tire was easy.I don't know why i struggle fitting tires on the ttr250 rims.On the 990 it is easier for me.

OMG that video made me laugh so much, especially the pumping bit!

Shouldn't really, as I know how hard it is to fit them and make sure the tyre bead installs right. Saying that when all done, they are AWESOME smile

Thanks for the vid mateysmile

More work!
The previous owner when replacing the piston just used the old gaskets and plenty of gasket maker. It is supposed to be a wiseco piston.Do i have all the rings? There is one groove empty.

There are two compression rings and beneath them is an oil control ring.

Looking at your photos there seems to be a ring there - the little depressions around the edge - have you tried sliding the ring round with the tip of a little screwdriver?

there are 3 rings. But between the top and the second there is a groove (the yellowish in the photo). It may be how wiseco makes their pistons.I looked at their site and there is indeed 3 rings. So i'm ok.Thanks
