Do you mean that it will start and run and then cut out on its own or do you switch it off and then it wont restart for an hour?

Problem with the ignition coil on the stator that goes open circuit when it gets hot?

Almost impossible to find an intermittent fault unless the component is in "fail" mode when you test it. The manual will almost certainly have the specs.

Worth downloading a manual if you haven't already got it - see https://totallyttrs.com/epages/699105d9-e4cc-4b32-b236-84e72cd67f84.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/699105d9-e4cc-4b32-b236-84e72cd67f84/Categories/Shop/Workshop_and_owners_manuals

That looks really useful John - good shout! biggrin

I found this in it:-

"Note- If your motorcycle starts and runs fine, but then dies once it warms up, there could be a wire somewhere in the ignition circuit that is losing connectivity as it warms. If this is the case, you may have to purchase or have a shop test your coils with a load tester. You might also be able to simulate the heat by using a heat gun to warm the coils. You can then test the coils as they are being warmed up."

I thought it might be of use, it looked interesting. Electrics can be as you said earlier can be difficult to diagnose
