Collection of Trail Bike & Enduro Magazine (TBM) / Dirt Junkies mags

I am under pressure to clear some room on my shelves so have reluctantly agreed to sell my collection of Trail Bike & Enduro Magazine (TBM) / Dirt Junkies mags.

The May and October 2009 mags feature the WR250R. In fact the October mag asks if the WR250R is the best trailie ever biggrinbiggrinwink

See https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/274274594413

I will be adding more batches of mags as I sort through them. Just click on "See other items" on the right of the page to check them out.

The mags test ride and race all sorts of dirtbikes from the more common KTMs and Yams to the rarer and more exotic.

I have spent much of the day on listing these mags but probably more time re-reading them than anything else disbelief

I could be wrong but there just seemed to be a much wider variety of trail bikes around back in the day.

I have just listed the mags for 2002 and included in these mags were buyers guides for a Honda XR250R, XT225 Serow, KTM200, WR400F, RMX250 and Pampera. Remember those?

Also, good reminders of the old faithfuls such as the KDX220, XT500, DR-Z400S and E, CCM 644DSR, 1150GS, Yam WR250Z (the ultimate enduro weapon back in the day - now a very rare bike), and the venerable CRM250AR.

Nostalgia ain't what it used to be eh? biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

I only had 6 issues for 2000 but, interestingly, the July 2000 mag has a 5-page review of the first "blue" TTR available in the UK.

This TTR happened to be an Australian model but the headlight and kmh speedo are the same as the new "European" TTR I imported back in 2003.

It received a favourable review I am pleased to say! biggrin

I will scan the pages to put on here but, if anyone wants to buy the mag, then its in the bundle on eBay here.

The January 1999 TBM magazine includes  a couple of pages on a comparison of the Honda XR250R and a "white" TTR250. They didn't get much time on the bikes and wouldn't choose between them but concluded that the TTR had better suspension and the XR a "gruntier" engine.

Six 1999 issues including this one are included here.

I was talking to TTR Steve earlier today and, being a relative newcomer to trail riding, he hadn't heard of the TBM magazine and only knew of its digital successor "Rust".

TBM was always a great read and each issue was awaited eagerly as there was nothing much else happening online and no regular publication that was interested in trail riding.
