ttr 600 fuel tank

got myself a very clean 600 tank rear mount looks identical some mods needed for the front plus seat mod or maybe custom seat base but very pleaqsed with look and sensible fuel load

Hi John

I am guessing you didn't get a response to your first post as no-one on here has tried such a tank.

It would be great if you could take a few photos showing it as when you got it and where it doesn't fit and then when you have fixed it up please?

The TTR600 tanks look a bit like the Raid tank. Are you fitting it to a Raid?

the tank is now on the bike looks grand in my opinion had to mod the seat somewhat, really when one turns up needs the 600 seat but just feels so much better to ride with a nice fat tank to grip plus its 10ltrs on main and lighter than steel one it replaces, its on a white oe pics will follow when i figure out how to post them

The Adventure Rider article tells you how to do lots of things to a TTR250 and the tank bit is near the bottom of the first page - scroll down lots - and then go to pages 5 and 6.

well a couple of pics of the 600 tank on my 250, you will note the seat front is not quite at the right angle to the tank a 600 seat would be good but most likely i will extend the seat base and get it reupholstered at some point, but when riding you dont notice it so suits me for the present ,one step at a time.

Not a bad fit. Love that sexy teardrop shape.
The angle looks very similar to the Raid tank, so might be worth trying if you know someone local with a Raid seat you could borrow.

Spot on - the tank looks very smart!

As Simon says, it would be interesting to try a Raid seat to check the fit.

However, trouble is that, even if the Raid seat fits, they aren't that readily available cry

You said early on that "some mods needed for the front". What did you need to do please?

Also, you say 10 litres in the main tank. Do you know how much i reserve please? I tried Googling the tank capacity but failed disbelief

the front riser to the seat needs taking down by agout 2.5ins the measurement is 9.25ins from the top side of the front lower fixing the top then needs taking in on both side by about .75in and dressing in to give a nice curve i took the staples out on the front hump all the way down to seat level peeled it back out of the way once i was happy with the fit i cut the excess seat covering off and restapled pulling it as tight as i could get with one hand would be better with an assistant to pull it really tight and the assistant staple in place, its not perfect needs the bottom sweep filling out a bit to better fit the 600 tank but that for another day.

tank holds just under 11ltrs from dry to full with a little space at the top

Hello guys, new member here. I own an TTR 250 Raid. Recently i started doing enduro and riding a motocross track, but my motorcycle is quite heavy. So i want to remove as much weight as i can. I want to replace the gas tank because it's made from steel and it weights 5 kilos. The tank from the ttr 600 is plastic, so it should be significantly lighter, and with a naked eye it looks the same as the one from Raid. I believe has the same mounts for the front and also for the back. From what i understand you didn't have to create new mounts, only to trim the seat? Can you give more details about how you fitted yours? Some pictures of the front and rear mounts would be very helpful.
