Finally came around and got a TTR-250!

After looking at a brand new but oldish stock TTR that stood at a dealer for months I finally decided on buying a DR650 which I rode for nearly 7 years. On a back road trip with a friend on a GS1200 I realised that the DR was still too heavy for my liking. I went looking for a TTR...no luck new and no nice ones 2nd hand so I settled on a Husqvarna FE501...the fun lasted 1 year. Too much power! Back to the drawing board and not long after a reasonably neat TTR came up fir sale. Dirty but all standard except for the zorst and terrible jetting! A few broken bits too but easy to fix. Bike is cleaned up and am fiddling with the exhaust and jetting. Bike seems rich now but rides and runs pretty good....happy face!!!

I'm lurking in a dry river bed in the Tanqua Karoo. Campfire crackling, beer in hand, gazing up at the Milky way... the only way to end a day on a TTR!

👍👍👍
That's the one. There are plenty gravel passes in many compass directions leading from what appears to be a largely flat area. The sunsets can be awsome, stargazing is fantastic due to the lack of light pollution. Full moon walks are amazing. Vast open spaces...one of my favourite places.
