Headlight lens

Own a 2007 TTR250 Aust build. Managed to smash the headlight lens the other day. Doesn't look like there is anything much on Ebay in relation to the OEM lens as a replacement. Can I still get them anywhere? If not will anything else fit?

And for your entertainment....

Nice vid but you probably should stop hugging trees like that!!
If you need genuine headlight wreckers or ebay.
After market lights are cheaper and lighter weight.

Where in Vic were you riding?
Whats the speedo you have?

I did see one on ebay, in Victoria but geez, $225 +$16 postage. I got a strange looking one with my bike (in a box of bits) has the fairing? type mount as the original, but is a much smaller light. I'll go dig it out and have a look.

EDIT.

Ok, found it, the reason I thought it looked a little strange is probably because someone has glued a piece of perspex to it, obviously as a headlight protector.

The size of the standard one on my bike is 160mmx100mm, the "other" headlight is 115mmx75mm. The light itself is Stanley brand and has a H4 bulb in it.

Yours is almost certainly off an older WRF 250 or 450.

Some info about different headlights and bulbs here

Stll not quite sure how that happened, front wheel just decided it didnt want to stay upright, lucky that tree was there to help me stop.

Was riding at Neerim South Victoria. Video doesn't quite show how steep that track is, with some decent ruts as well.

Speedo is a trailtech Vapour, good little unit.

Saw the $225 one on Ebay. I really only need the headlight lens, not the whole surround and plastics, but no-one wants to sell just that apparently.

I might end up with one of those after market ones, but might be able to get my hands on an OEM for $140.

Would prefer to stay original especially as most of the unit is perfectly ok.

I'll keep looking, and try to stop being a greenie and hugging trees.

Look for the part number on the lens if you still have it, then look for a lens from another light, eg cars with square headlights, you might be able to separate the lens from the body and seal it on to your housing. If you cant get it, I'll have a look on mine in the morning.

EDIT: Just had a look, the headlight is a Koto halogen XH27.

If you look around under that model number you might have a bit more luck.

i fitted a headlight unit from a virago to mine, help with the wiring came from ttboof on here and it works well and has a stronger light than the original one that i had on the OE. I need to make a tidier bracket for it but for €25 it was cheap enough to take a flyer on. If anyone has dimensions for a raid headlight bracket i could do with them to make a similar setup for mine.
