Hello, I have been a Bluey owner and lurker of this fine forum for a while. I am lucky to live in Wiltshire which has many miles of quality byways and Salisbury Plain to explore. Most of my byway riding in recent years has been on a TT600RE but after finding a decent Bluey last year this is now my go to trail bike.
A few months back I purchased a second hand rack from fellow forum member and very nice guy to deal with Jordandenton who I understand had used it to travel around Nepal. He I believe bought the rack which had been designed and made by another and clearly talented forum member mossproof. I said to Jordan I would post some pictures up when I had fitted on the bike. Well it has taken me a bit longer to get around to fitting it than I had planned but here it is.
Having it on the bike I shall be inspired by Jordans sense of adventure, I shall be reassured by the quality of mossproof's engineering talent but mostly I will be grateful that my riding mates now have some sturdy hand holds to pull me back out of the hedge with!

What in the Jeep world they call "trail proven". Glad they're holding up well.
Love the 600 too, but there's a weight penalty. One day I might buy one just to scratch the itch.

Thanks for the replies Steve and Simon, I was very lucky with the Bluey, the previous owner / owners had fitted quite a few extras and looked after it. Back in 2005 my local Yamaha dealer was selling them for 3k on the road new and I so nearly bought one, but was happy with my KLR250 at the time. I soon regretted not snapping one up though and even more now that they are holding their value so well so getting a 250 was an itch that needed to be scratched for me. The 600 I have was bought by a friend new in 2005 when they were 3.5k on the road, he only did a thousand miles on it before loosing interest and abandoning it in his garage. I eventually got hold of it and built it up as an 'adventure' bike hence the bigger tank, MM pannier system, pivot-pegz and a few other goodies. I love the grunt of the 600 and I had never noticed the weight until I hopped on the 250, but I have to say having ridden both on trail and tarmac the 250 is by far the better trail bike and the better road bike because of the 6th gear. The 600 has the power but the 250 is more relaxed at 50 to 55 because of the extra gear and drinks a lot less fuel. I just need to use them a bit more!
