It s my time to create a thread on my TTR just bought 1 week ago.
because the former owner was suspicious about the head gasket, I did a compression test. Usually, it s engine hot but my tank was already remove and full of strange plastic, I did the test engine cold, just to have a rough idea. I took the compression 3 times, because I forgot to open the throttle the 2 first times (stupid):
3first attempt : 9.5 bar (engine cold,throttle closed)
****, a little too low, So I injected a small amount of oil...
second attempt: 10.5 bar, still too low
**, the throttle!!
So I removed the carburetor (even if it s not necessary to take the compression) and for the final attempt, engine cold, with small amount of oil in the cylinder and no intake restriction, 12 bar !!!
So, even if the condition are not perfect wit the engine cold, I consider that the engine is fine...
In parallel, I have started to strip down the bike and create my chirstmas list on the totallyTTR website.
My left leg fork receive a shock and is distorded, Does any one have this part to sell?
