hi everyone, ive recently accuired an 04 blue tt250r uk bike which had never been registered no v5c  from new. I bought if off its original owner locally and i am trying to get through the minefield of forms off the dvla!.

basically I have motd the bike PASS

got a manufacture date off Yamaha using the frame and engine number

all good you say!

but alas I now need the type approval number and a few other bits of info to complete my v55\5 form to finally  get out to enjoy this great bike.

would any of you good fellows with a blue tt250r mind sharing some information off your vehicle details section on your v5c?

I need info for sections listed as

J- vehicle category

K- type approval number

p.2 net power (kw)

Q- power weight ratio

I believe this information will be common throughout all the blue model range and will help me greatly to finally get the nod from the bods in DVLA.

thank you for your time in reading through this waffle, time for the pub, which may actually make these forms make sence!!

Hi James and welcome to the forum!

As with all things DVLA, nothing is straightforward disbelief

They don't need all of those items of information as you can see from a V5 of a blue TTR that I have but the type approval is there wink

Hi all happy new year
Just an update on this old post
I did not need type approval from Yamaha as the bike is over 10 yr old.
I did need age dating cert
Mot on frame number
Tax application.
As I remember most of the DVLA’s form was irrelevant.
Now on the road and scouting a few tet routes 👍
