Not been on the forum long and hope someone can help...my clutch is slipping and having read the threads checked the adjustment, changed the oil and measured the plates which are reading 2.9mm-3mm put it all back together and its still slipping. Im sure the adjustment of the arm is in the right place but it still slips.but I I have adjusted cable but I cant get clutch to work correctly. I was going to buy new clutch plates and springs but dont want to waste money
could be oil contamination. car type oils can cause this as they dont have the correct friction modifiers for a wet clutch.. if it is and to be honest for the price just fit a new clutch and hd springs..
si
Petenz I didnt but have ordered plates and springs and when I get ready to fit will check them as you say it could be that even though they looked fine. Thx
Hi Just an update, the clutch plates arrived today with uprated springs and fitted into place without problem. I thought I would also replace the clutch cable and to be honest I think this was the problem. I couldnt even move the cable with my hands so I suspect with the bike not being used for some time its was seized. I didnt think the cable would make it slip that is why I changed the plates...we live and learn.
