Short bimble around some lovely green lanes in East Devon - 2nd October 2018

After a long break, I finally got back on the TTR for a trail ride - after some encouragement from my good mate Jim who set the date and tried to rally the troops wink

I wasn't sure how it would be as it wasn't long ago that I had a "medical episode" resulting in having a couple of stents fitted. So I planned the route and led a small group of 3 of us around some relatively "easy" East Devon lanes.

We were all a bit rusty and it was the first trail ride of the season for the others as well so I was asked to keep it short which suited me fine.

We only covered 32 miles but rode 42 different lanes in that short distance so it was a good work out. I had planned to do a few more lanes after our lunch stop but after a long lunch break we decided that, as both ourselves and our bikes were all still in one piece, we wouldn't chance it and so we quit whilst we were ahead  biggrin

The lanes are still very dry but we managed to find a few soggy bottoms (in the words of Mary Berry!) to get the tyres muddy. It was a good plan to lead as I didn't have anyone's dust to eat although it did mean being the first to meet cars and walkers around the narrow roads and lanes.

I must organise myself a little better as I was so concentrating on the run that I neglected to take many photos. The three below are the only ones worth posting up disbelief  Martyn will recognise where the photos were taken. The first has Chiselbury Bay in the background and the other two were taken at our favourite viewpoint over what I think may be Sidmouth Bay.

Looking forward to the next one!

Brian

Thanks Brian and yes I recognise each and every location, boo hoo.

Please take care of yourself when you're enjoying everything so much.

You never know what you may meet in that neck of the woods.
I reckon my buggy may be able to reach those dizzy heights if I charge it up beforehand.

Martyn
