Have not had time to pull bits and pieces off the bike.... but.
I have decided to run inline fuel filter *crazy kid*
Put a brand new one (filter) on tonight, and noticed that even when fuel tap(peac o c k) was in the off position, fuel was coming out.
I would not say, full flow, but much more than i thought should come out, in fact i assumed NOTHING should flow out.
It was a constant slow flow.
Does this seem right? Common sense to me suggests this is wrong.
Bike sat for about 24hrs, had about 50ml-100ml leak overnight into container. Edit: was a bit over zealous with measurements, prob more like 10ml-50ml really now that i looked at it..
Also bought some new oil as planning on doing an oil change.... but bugger was in a hurry to get home got the right viscosity, but turns out its pure mineral oil. (Should have guessed based on price). It's a 20w50. Manual says 10w30, or 20w40 synth. The bloke looked it up in THE BOOK and my yr, model was suggested that this mineral 20w50 was good to go???
I now this opens massive debates about synth vs mineral. I have only ever used syth in my cars. And vauguely remember seeing a vid on why syth is better. Watched a vid on ttr250 oil change, and the guy suggests a semi synth yamalube 20w40
As always thanks for you're imput.
Best

I am pretty sure that your tap is leaking. The rubber seal disintegrates over time. You need a kit like this http://totallyttrs.com/epages/699105d9-e4cc-4b32-b236-84e72cd67f84.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/699105d9-e4cc-4b32-b236-84e72cd67f84/Products/TTR-0253
I am sure your mineral oil will be fine but, normally, it is only used to run in a rebore as it allows more friction during the bedding in process. As I said in a recent thread, I prefer semi-synthetic.
Just putting it out there, been a few days since put on new fuel line , inline fuel filter, plus fuel line clips..been for a FEW quick squirts around block. (After work) Seem extremely slow leak now. Very little in container.... but still something.
I am taking on brians advice, and will replace o-ring in fuel tap. Or replace the lot. {Just my experince being a total noob} Best
