Bedliner - or painting the plastics ?

Hi guys was wondering if anyone has bedlinered there plasticks ? Think it would look pretty cool  posiblt tan or od green. I've seen a few dr's with black but think it gets to much. Idk my plasticks are pretty scratched up kinda looks like they cleand the old stickers off with a steel scouring pad. So playing with ideas. Bed liner would make it super tuff lol.

I had an OE once where the plastics had been sprayed - presumably in 2-pack. The finish was excellent and survived minor scrapes with no cracking or damage.

I have also sprayed a blue headlight, firstly with plastic primer and then ordinary aerosol and the finish was fine but the colour match wasn't good. Has anyone by any chance found an aerosol spray can that matches the blue TTR plastics?

sorry- I didn't have alerts turned on!..I do now.

OK the plastics are dusty- you can see the dust  wiped away on one plastic.  They were £25.00 a pair.  One has a scratch on it- which was too deep to get out..or to fill convincingly.  I will be putting some kind of decals over the white to draw the eye away from the scratch.

Thanks for posting up the photos Rod smile

Were the panels originally blue?

Did you buy the wrap and cover them yourself?

Brian

No Brian- panels were originally white- but if you had blue and wrapped- they would become white- it is quite thick & will change blue to white, (not translucent)
I asked the wrapper to wrap mine..I have a history of leaving bubbles!..all he wanted doing to it was cleaning/smoothing down & lightly roughing up to get a key.(600 wet & dry)

Thank you- They certainly look better than they did, but I think the best solution for the OE plastics is to buy blue new & wrap- that way you have a perfect fit without scratches/imperfections which do show through.
