Colorado Portion of the Trans America Trail (TAT)

Completed the Colorado portion of the TAT this past August which took around 9 days.  During that time, lived off the bike, camping in the wilderness/and or local hostels.  I have a video almost completed, do I need to upload it to youtube in order to share here?  Here's a few teaser pics.  

Hit all sorts of weather from freezing rain, snow, and hail, to scorching desert temps in Moab, Utah.  The bike really impressed me.

Looks like a great trip. Just a couple of you riding? (Judging by the pics) Heading to Moab after Jeep Week for a short break but I'd love to spend longer there on the bike.
We now have a european version TET which is like a circuit rather than a line. Nothing beats a good dirt road trip. Thanks for posting, and I think generally folk seem to upload to Youtube then post a link here. Would love to see it.

Very cool! I've done most of the Oregon section from the coast to Lakeview -- before Lakeview there is plenty of gas and plenty of law (no plate), after Lakeview no law but ... no gas. Looks like you made it with a standard tank?

Interestingly i'm planning on doing the entirety of the TAT this summer on the TTR, I've got a Clarke 4.7 gallon tank on the way that i'll have to work on fitting (there is another post on the forum that inspired me in that direction).  I averaged 70mpg's in Colorado, which was a surprise to me.  My friend on his DR350 averaged about 50mpg's, but had an Acerbis tank, so didn't have the fuel anxiety I did at certain points.  I've been reading a lot of trip reports and Nevada seems pretty sparse for fuel as well.

Glad to know there is another TTR on the TAT, figured I had to be one of the few.

mossprof - there are some pretty knarly trails around Moab, have fun, it's a pretty cool area!

Full TAT this summer?  You are fully and truly stoked.  Kind of hard to get my head around that actually.  I haven't been very far east but I can tell you McDermitt to Windigo Pass is awesome.  I think the TAT gets McDermitt to Silver Lake right but from there I'd go Chemult, Summit Lake, Oakridge, Eugene, Yachats, but I live in Eugene so ... .  Happy to hook you up in Oregon!

Pm'd you back.  I just uploaded the video, you can see the setup there.  I used an old Samsung Galaxy S3 in a ram mount on the handlebars.  downloaded a free .gpx viewer app, and used the .gpx file from GPSkevin.
