I have run LECTRON CARBS on lots of bikes over the years with great success on 2 strokes. Two years ago I decided to run their new 4 stroke carb on my WR450 that I used as a snow bike. The ease of tuning was a plus, and the tuning changes were more visible and felt than fooling with the stock accelerator pump Keihin which I had lavished much time on with various needles/pump improvements/ lots of jet variations.
What the Lectron proved to me was you don't need an accelerator pump on a 4 stroke engine for crisp instant throttle response. I did not however experience the big improvement in gas mileage as per the KTM 2 strokes I run Lectrons on. Oeverall the ride-ability of the Lectron was a big leg up over the stock carb. Downsize was the $$$ spent on the carb. When I retired the WR as a snowbike and put it on the street for resale, the Lectron with instant throttle was a serious handful and I had to remove the Lectron to sell the bike and go back to stock easy lazy throttle so no one hurt themselves. Upside is, one day on Ebay at $400 the LECTRON carb went down the road to a new owner.
