just joined the forum as I am trying to grab at everything I should have found time for before.

Also I live in the Lake District and have fantastic trails available locally so why not enjoy them before it's too late.

I have a BMW F800 GS for road use but need a lightweight trail bike to get off road.

Having enjoyed other forums before I'm sure this one will be brilliant !

Welcome, Gerry, to the TTR forum.

Better to have found us at a ripe old age and now than never. smile

You're only as old as you feel but have you found that you don't bounce as well once you pass 50? biggrinbiggrin

Welcome Graham

Fair play you are trail riding at 72.

Make me think who is the oldest trail rider on this forum???????

Welcome Gerry,
A TTR will be perfect. Good luck in your search.
I'm only a whipper snapper in my fifties, so two more decades of dirt bikes to look forward to. Wahooo..

He rides a TT250R, in fact on this trip we had 3 x TT250R's Derek above 73yrs, me Terry 63yrs & Dave 57yrs I think. Don't think Australia ever had the TT125R or if so they may not have been able to be ridden on the road.

Cheers Terry

Was out yesterday leading a group around the hills, I did warn them that Three Chain rd is red dirt & could have mud due to the overnight rain. Our almost 80yr old went down in one mud patch.

In fact he has said several times he loves mud, well he is English I guess...anyhow here is a couple of photos of a crazy old Englishman covered in mud

Richard was pointing at the mud & the line he took, I went through it at 80kph perhaps 85 & was fine, Richard slowed down to about 20kph & tried to steer around it & lost the front.

The mirrors are sold as ENDURO MIRRORS I've used them on my XR250, XR400, I fitted them to the TTR & WRR when I bought them, they work well & are out of the way in fact I've used since 1982 when I bought the XR250 new & in all that time only damaged one when I went over the bars on the XR400.

I have a lot of overseas riders ask me about the mirrors, I might research the part numbers & let you know, they come in two styles, clamp on like I have or the screw on like OEM mirrors with a threaded shaft.

I can get a close up photo if you like, let me know

Photo on the WRR, same mirrors as I have on the TTR
