Jetting frustration

hi, spent the last few days reading posts and sticky's on jetting and given up so hopefully someone can guide me in the right direction.

bike was stock open enduro and just given it a overhaul ready for some LDT's Later this year.

I have trimmed the snorkel down to the minimum and fitted a FMF power core 4.

stock jets was 147 main and 50 pilot.

fitted the suggested 140 main and 52.5 pilot and it was ok at tick over but would not pull cleanly.

removed air box side panel and it transformed the bike and pulled like a train. assume it's running too rich??

now tried original 147 main with the 52.5 pilot. Still ticks over fine but has the same spluttering as above.

can someone suggest a jetting to resolve this.

i have not tried playing with the needle yet but was going to be my next option.

thanks stve
