just been tinkering today this is just a thought should the battery have a rubber strap if so mines missing but cant see any lugs for the ends to go on

Here we go Johnyboy, a drawing with no Clicky Linky bits.

In the bottom picture the strap is shown as No 10.

It's a black rubber strip with a metal loop at each end.

One end fastens on hook No 15 of the top picture, the band wraps around the battery and fastens on the other side.
