Project update, poorley piston syndrome

Hello Peoples of the ttr world.

You may remember a few weeks ago I posted Some dirty pic's of me poorley piston in the welcome section.

Glad to say that the ttr is now fully resurrected and running as sweet as a nut. What a pleasure these engines are to work on, they are so easy. So I ended up with a new cam chain, piston rings, gasket kit and a second hand piston and barrel. Reground valves and de-coked etc. Really pleased with the outcome and I have not even tarted the bike up yet and it looks so great. Lot's of thanks to Totally TTR, what a great service.

Main problem was the bike had oil starvation. This was found to be caused by a failed oil filter, weather it hadn't been changed or was damaged putting in by the last owner I couldn't say, but it had clogged all the oil way's to the head.

Bike is still MOT'D, now insured, Just too tight to Tax until next month (3 day's away) think I can wait.
