Fitting a gripper seat cover

Got some new gripper seat covers, thanks to Chris for getting me the infosmile

Started with removing the old staples, all 177 of themno Think I got a bit carried away last timeblankstare

Easiest way is to get a screw driver and lift them up, before pulling them out with pliers.

I put about 125 Staples in this time and the result is great, no wrinklessmilesmile

Hey Steve, they look pretty good, I was wondering if there is enough vinyl there if I widened the seat with some extra foam

say for instance rather than tapering from the seat pan just going straight up adding about 50mm each side ??

Much prefer the plain ones to those with Yamaha printed on which disappears under the edge. Had to vinyl spray mine away!
I think there's probably enough material to gain a bit of extra foam - half an inch of soft foam either side ought to be doable. Careful though - worked with a girl once who stapled her finger to her accounts:-0

My brother inlaw has an upholstery buisness 

he did mine with a marine gripper material it stretches in all directions and just went straight over the original cover didnt require any seams and is tough as nails 

its the second bike hes used it on for me

Glad you like the cover Steve. 

 

And there is plenty of room for additional foam. I've got heaps of extra layers and its wider and the cover fits with no dramas.
