i have stripped a cylinder head to do valves stem seals & shim up how do i know i have the inlet cam in its right place in the head & ex cam how do i identify them i dont know if someone has had them out & just popped em back anywhere i shall overall the head & put cams back in then shim up on the bench before i finally put it on my ttr which i am running at the moment but when it is left upon start up it smokes so stem seals needed
I think Brian's taking a break John. I think if you put them in with the cam lobes in the position shown and the sprockets marks don't line up, then yes you can get them mixed up. BUT I think they'll be so far out it will be obvious. If they're all in bits it's not difficult to experiment a bit.
no steve but its an engine partially stripped then thrown together to make it a lump possible would never run all I need is the head to recon for my ttr brian says the camshafts are the same inl and ex but don't know about the cam sprockets
