If your TTR is smoking and/or using oil and you want the ultimate upgrade without having to re-sleeve the barrel and bore the crankcases then here's your chance.
My tidy up is continuing and I have just added to the shop a "280" barrel and piston kit - ready to fit!
The barrel has been bored and cross honed for the Wossner "280" kit - in actual fact 263cc - which is the most you can go out to on a standard TTR250 sleeve.
The kit includes a brand new Wossner +2mm piston kit including ring set, gudgeon pin and circlips.
This is exactly the same as I am running in my road TTR.
I have done the legwork in running back and forth to the machine shop getting the barrel rebored so it saves you having to do that and also saves the inevitable waiting time with your TTR in pieces and the workshop pixies running off with various important components!
From an abandoned project
Save yourself the hassle and have a stonking motor back in your TTR by lunchtime
And you still have your old barrel as a spare or to sell!
During the tidy up I also re-discovered 3 "first oversize" kits that I had done with a view to having them ready and waiting for engine rebuilds on project bikes etc. These are now no longer needed so are up for sale here
The difference is noticeable according to other owners that have fitted the kit (maybe ttrsteve will be along to comment on his experience later) but not sufficient (in my opinion - but I am a tight git!) to make it worth doing to an engine that is currently running fine and not worn.
If your current engine is smoking and/or using oil then it will almost certainly be down on power in which case the kit would transform it - especially if you took the opportunity to clean up the head and lap the valves in at the same time
