WR450f headlight, Painted Rims, Recovery Straps

Finished my first top end rebuild and decided to go the first oversize rebore.

Ive been changing some things on my TTR in my spare time. Was pretty much trying to get it looking less like an older bike.

Bought a new condition WR450f headlight to fit up. Masking tape on wheels to paint the rims black.

So i took it out for a ride. Bush to Beach and back again.

Note that i made up two grab straps and new bashguard. In front of the headlight and at the back of the seat

Hey Shorty

Like the headlight mod, do you think there was any weight saving at all ?

the TTR headlight assembly weighs a couple of kg !

I like the grab straps as well, keep meaning to put one on the front of mine but keep forgetting, can you show a closer view of the bracket please

Also are you in sydney or brisbane I live up in the blue mountains

Being all plastic its definitely lighter. The ttr headlight seems better and a lot more durable though.

The grab straps are just lengths of tie down straps and i put a hole in them and mounted them using the bolts for the fork clamps.
Also changed indicators.

Yeah nice looking TTR. Black massively changes the look of em.

The headlight looks right at home on the ttr. Do you think the beam is not as good as the original though? Would have thought a modern and large reflector would be better than the old square? Black rims look nice too. Fiddly masking up paid off!

 Remember that the comparison is with the Australian headlight which is a lot better than the UK version wink
