Everything seems great except the motor runs so Damn hot. It won't run choked at all but runs perfect otherwise. I put about 30 miles on her tonight but I replaced the float valve and fixed the air leaks, runs really strong. What else should I look at?

How do you know it's too hot? Glowing header pipe = probably running lean. Engine seizing? Paint peeling?? If it starts without choke, may be running a bit rich but that doesn't normally cause excess heat. How does the plug look?
Simon.
I left out that I also changed the air filter, oil/oil filter, and the spark plug. The header pipe does glow a bit and if I put my hand on a lower part of the engine it seems to be hotter then I would think it should be. I've toyed with the air screw a bit but doesn't seem to help much. I'm thinking I should check the valve clearance next but the fact that it won't run with the choke makes me wonder if it's a carb issue. I've noticed a little bit of smoke since I've had it out but it's inconsistent, probably a valve seal I guess. I Will be checking the spark plug as well. I think I'll have to ride it again and see if I can gather any more clues.
