Why renew like with like?

I had a Tiger Cub at one time and I put a push-bike speedo on it for MoT and legalness.

CLICKY

All in for £20.00 - cheaper than pukka Yamaha

The bicycle speedo Martyn showed used to be the speedo of choice for our enduro bikes back in the day. My mate Olly used to sell them already set up for a 21" motorcycle front wheel under the name of Electraspeed which is no longer operating.

Sorry JOHNYBOY, try this CLICKY instead. hmm

You could look on the web for yourself - just type "cycle speedo" into Google and press return to get 694,000 results in 0.63 seconds. biggrinbiggrin

I think John is looking for something tried and tested by a forum member used on a TTR rather than googling for general stuff!

You could go for a Vector Trail Tech speedo, which was something like £80 if memory serves me correct.
Or a Halfords bicycle speedo for a fiver.
Both will need a magnet (supplied) on one of the spokes.
Both will show your speed although the Trail Tech does come with more features, and it looks better.

There is an alternative to the Vector but still not cheap!

The photo below is of an Acewell 3100 which had been in use on a TTR250 Raid that I broke for spares. It would fit any of the TTR250 models. The photo shows the bracket used to attach the sender magnet to the fork leg.

I have also run a Vector on an OE and it also worked perfectly well. I can't find a good photo of the unit itself but I recall it say well on the bars and looked fine.

The photos below show how the sender magnet was attached to the fork leg.

I will try and find the Electraspeed cycle speedo I used many years ago and post some photos.

Be patient Johnyboy wink

I found my Avocet cycle speedo kit as sold by the now defunct Electraspeed outfit - photo below.

It worked perfectly well on my enduro bikes with 21" front wheels. No reason at all why it wouldn't work on a TTR250.

If you want cheap then this is the way to go. Perfectly legal but smallish screen as you can see.
