Hello all - new to the forum today but wanted to ask if anyone thought that this RAID was a good price - see here

It's missing the purple back wheel and Digi Speedo isn't working so..hmmm?

Looks to be in really good condition!

The usual culprit causing digital speedo failure is the sender unit but exchange units are available here

The second most likely cause is the magnet breaking up but, again, replacements are available - see here

The aluminium finish rear wheels fetch more money than the purple rimmed ones and you might be able to do a swap with another owner. Or else, fit the same coloured front wheel. Or get the rim anodised purple.

Brian

PS Welcome to the forum!

Amazing advice - thanks Brian!

The guy says that the Digi Speedo isn't broken but disconnected - which I find a little confusing tbh?

I hope he's not trying to hide mileage etc?? Do you think the price is a bit 'toppy' though?

Thanks again - love the forum!!

Some digital speedos can drain the battery if the TTR isn't used for a while. My shopping TTR does that so I put a connector in the positive line from the battery so that I can easily disconnect it when parking up.

I will investigate the cause one day!

The price is at the top of what a white TTR would go for and you would expect it to be 100% for that money. Any known faults or damage would be a negotiating lever.

You could pick up up a tidy blue un-restored TTR for not much more money.

Brian

PS The Grim Reaper came for me last night, and I beat him off with a vacuum cleaner.  Talk about Dyson with death.

I have cut down on my TTRs Nelly! Only three here at the moment. Shopping TTR, trail 325 and a 325 rebuild/resto under way that has stalled for about 6 months biggrin

But I am retired and need something to keep me occupied wink

PS There will be a nice blue TTR up for sale here in Exeter soon as ttrtim has just bought another bike.

PPS I went to the cemetery yesterday to lay some flowers on a grave.  As I was standing there I noticed 4 grave diggers walking about with a coffin. 3 hours later and they're still walking about with it.  I thought to myself, they've lost the plot!!

It made me laugh Pete biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

PS I was driving this morning when I saw an RAC van parked.  The driver was sobbing uncontrollably and looked very miserable.  I thought to myself 'that guy's heading for a breakdown.'

I'm looking to sell my Raid if you're interested. I'm located in Pembrokeshire and am looking for around £1500. I can mail you pictures if you require.
Rich.
