Raid tank - up your fuel capacity to 16 litres very cheaply!

Raid tanks are a cheap upgrade to get almost double the capacity of the OE metal tanks. They have a capacity of 16 litres.

This one has quite a crease but is petrol tight and the bottom looks very solid.

I haven't tried it but the crease may possible be "blown" out by pressurising the tank else a panel beater could get in there with a special hammer. Otherwise just leave it as it is!

£20 collected or else an extra £8.50 to send by courier.

So with the crease about 15.5 litres then?!... winkconfusesmile

So as to avoid bodyshop labour costs, I have just put a load of filler in a deep crease and painted myself before, it didn't seem to matter how deep the filler was..

LOL - yeah - never thought of measuring a dent or crease like that. Approx. 0.5 litre crease biggrin

If I wanted to use it I would go the filler route wink

The photos below show the tank mounting points on the purple frames:

Here are the metal tank fittings:

Rubber mounts that the tank slides on over at the front

The clip that holds the tank at the front top

The later frames could be modified as you will see from the photo below perhaps using parts from a scrap purple frame?

Yes I recall seeing the pics before. Should be an easy mod.

It's not a great fit!

BTW, I had a visitor and posted the guide before completed. I have now updated it with the other parts used.
