Just in case any of you have thought about adding one of these to your stable there are some pics and links below..

I quite like them actually.

I have read that the pre 2004 ones have ohlins suspension, but the post 2004 ones have a leccy start.. smile

Has anyone on here owned one?

I was out on a trail ride with some TRF chaps in March I think it was, and was convinced the bloke was on a TTR600, but turned out to be the XT. The reviews I have read indicate that the XT is the better option, but there doesn't seem to be much in it to me, They do look nice, certainly the moto one :)

I also like them, some say they are a bit heavy. I know someone who owns one but won't see it till our camping weekend down in Salisburylater in the year.

Think its weight is somewhere in between the 250 and your tenere Locky. Yeah that particular supermoto one looks well nice doesn't it.

I like them and did think about it when I as looking for a TTR. The main reasons I didn't were the obvious extra weight that I didn't fancy having to pick up on my multiple hedge visits and the apparent lack of decent mpg. I think if I was really after something that size I would be opting for an F650.

They probably make a better touring/dualsport/overlanding bike, but obviously as we know from here most people are quite happy with re up-gearing and adding a comfort seat to their 250. Bet they're nice and punchy for supermotos.

If money was available I would grab one just for a toy as like you say a supermoto one could be great fun and I do love the look of that red one.

the twin carb system on them is great when it works as intended...
but when it plays up... which the all seem to sooner or later (they are getting old now) they are a real nightmere....
