Exhaust again..White Brothers E Series.

Yes i'm happy with the standard exhaust but this came up on ebay so thought i'd give it a trybiggrin . If i dont like it i'll just sell it on here for what i paid.

It's a White Brothers E series and a bit of a strange affair. It can be tuned by adding or removing the discs behind the end cap.

More discs = more noise and less back pressure.

Less discs = less noise and more back pressure.

I've just printed some instructions off and the minimum number of discs i can fit is 4 so i'll try it at that. They say with 4 discs it will perform much like the standard exhaust.

I've got a similar set up with my Supatrapp exhaust. I think there is currently 6 discs on mine and it does sound quite fruity and certainly gives it a bit more grunt than the original exhaust.
The main reason I have this one on it though is because its a full stainless system, so its gonna last longer.

Yes new to me too. I think ive seen something with the same arrangement at the end of the exhaust but didn't know what it was for.

I hadn't actually seen that before. I must try playing around with the number of discs and seeing what difference it makes.

All cleaned up and fitted. I went with 5 discs and it sounds good. Much deeper than the standard modified exhaust but not to loud and quite acceptable. With all 8 discs it's about the same as the FMF that i sold with the quiet insert.

Pete, it sounds like this BOB BOB BOB BOB BOB biggrin

lol sorry Pete couldnt resist..
with just the 4 discs fitted it must be one of the quietest aftermarket exhausts apart from the Motad.

Glad your happy with it. You can prob tell by my vids, the crd with the baffle in isn't obtrusive either.

I never realised the CRD came with a baffle. I thought it was a straight through can like the FMF powercore.

the supertrapp has been around since the early 80s....
they use to blow the exhaust gasses side ways.. make
a real mess of the rear of the bike...

This one looks like its a better design...

Thats it Pete, always thought they looked strange compared to other exhausts.

Interesting.... could you give some more details, was it a straight fit, did you have to mod it in any way?

Make ,model number of the silencer etc. ?

Hi Andy, yes it's a straight fit, it's designed to fit the TTR 250.
No model number, just "White Brothers E series" (to fit TTR250).
I spent some time trying to find info before i bid on it on ebay and they are now owned by Vance & Hines. The exhaust is used and i paid £101 + £12 postage, it's in very nice condition.

Cheers Locky,

thats a fair purchase price, very good looking piece of kit too, suits the TTR. I'll look into that as I'm due for a renewal soon.

Would be very useful to Keep the forum informed as to your findings with number of discs, noise level etc, please. A recording would be good if you got the time.

Andy

Done a recording on my phone but it sounds different when played back so not much point. I could send the recording to anyone that uses Whatsapp on their phone if they'd like to have a listen. Im always looking at TTR bits on ebay, if i see another for sale i'll give you a poke.

Nice deep tone similar to fmf, I had to do alot of trial and error repacking and modding with my FMF silencer finally got it to a reasonable sound,I'm not happy with it being too throaty when I'm green laning. so I'd be interested in hearing your feed back.

Cheers Locky

The vid makes it sound louder than it is, probably becuase it's in an enclosed space . My FMF can with a db killer was a lot louder.
