Hello all I hope that someone with some electrical knowledge could help me with my 2004 TTR, I love the magic button!!!

Electric start button not working, you can hear the relay clicking and 11.6 v is at the starter motor is applied, but she does not turn over.

Kicks over fine, and all idle gears are free. This is a new starter brought in OCT from Mr TTR himself last year after my sprag blew up and stripped the old starter. I hope someone may have some ideas.

One strange thing did happen if I use the kick start slowly moving the engine round and keep hitting the start button at some points it spins the starter and goes to start.

There is no volt drop on the battery when the button is pressed and it has 11.6v at the battery. Running after kick start battery is getting charged.

My guess is that the brushes have stuck. I did have this with on another starter motor cry

have to agree with Brian the new starter could have been sitting a while they have a coating from new to stop corrosion and it tends to get a bit sticky with age , only other check id do before getting into the starter would bridge the solenoid contact with a screw driver to elimate  a faulty solenoid  and double check the earth connection

Yep brushes it was, Looks like some water had got into the unit it was horrible in there.

Brushes were well stuck in so not contact with the rotor...

Cleaned and back together sealed, works a treat.
