Not tried one of the newer 660 motors but the old 600 was a bit of torque monster, I remember that it was quite an art to accelerate in the first 3 or 4 gears without the front end coming up.
Does look quite tasty

They are a cracking bike, I own one. Possibly one of the best bikes I've owned for years. Obviously not as good off road as the smaller bikes but still very capable and quite good on the road.

Some say they are the best adventure bike straight from the crate..

Here's mine.

Got to be better than ugly gs's, vstrom's, versys's and crosstourers. That new ccm that is coming out also looks another good adventure bike.

Yes the CCM looks great. I'm interested to see how cope when they got some miles on them. The engine is made in sunny China.
What's wrong with V-Stroms ? www.v-strom.co.uk/phpBB3/viewtopic.php

I just don't really like the way they look is all, that looks a good trip locky, and an excellent write up! I use lomo roll bags too.

Your tenere looks a more capable bike, with its larger front wheel, higher ground clearance, sump guard, no close up mudguard etc

Lol yes I agree that the V-Strom fell out the ugly tree. A great mile muncher though and legendary reliability + 60mpg. The blue one had over 100.000 miles under its belt before the trip with just wear and tear parts renewed throughout its life . It was rebuilt before the trip but the engine remained untouched.
