Hi from new member in Sydney Australia

Hello from a new member with an old bike. 1994 model. It only comes out of the shed about one or twice a month, mainly around our 5 acre backyard or up the nearby fire trails where it is fantastic.

It has full road rego but I don't commute on it. It has only 8000k's on the clock. I have had it for about 5 years. My 18 year old son thinks Dad should pass it down to him....I'm not so sure!

Ps: Great forum by the way.

Thanks for the welcome Pete.
Yes it has the plastic Acerbis tank, bark busters, bash plate & rack.
This is my first and only Yamaha. What a great allrounder these bikes are. Good to see they have a big following all around the world.

Welcome, looks like it's been looked after considering it's age.

Welcome to the TTR forum, Greg.

You join a lot of your compatriots on this forum - fair dinkum, mate.

That's a good looking example you have. I like the bash plate.

The bike has an easy life nowadays. I have only put 1000 clicks on it in the last 3 years.

Welcome to the forum Greg!

Looks like your TTR was spoiled with some optional extras from new - kickstart, oil cooler and rack wink

Yeah nice tidy bike, they obviously put those headlights on the xt225 serow in later years, my mates is exactly like that, I suppose they had a load left over! Thats a hefty rack, you can probably strap up quite alot on it hey

Not seen a headlight like that on a TTR before. Maybe they were just fitted to the Australian models?

Also just spotted the shorty header

Brian

Wow you guys spot the details well! Yes it has the short header pipe. When I bought it there was an aftermarket muffler on it. It now has a 2010 ttr muffler.

Also thanks for the welcome everyone.

Gday ttboof and Pendo.
I stay very local these days. It barely gets used!
My son rides it around our property and I occasionally take it up the fire trails and twisty bits from say Galston Gorge in northern Sydney up the old way to around Ourimbah state forest. Havent gone as far as Taree yet.

2 questions....is that a photo of you on an old Honda? and.. Is that a reflection, or a big joint in your mouth?

You must have low gearing then for decent wheelies, I see your back sprocket looks relatively big, he doesn't ever burn his leg on the exhaust riding with no trousers then?!

Haha Greg. Had a view joints in my 20s prob when the photo was taken many many years ago. Its a Yamaha TT 500 i had new in the early 80s. It was a rocket of a bike to me as i was bullet proof back then and only weighed 70 kgs. I double my blossom alot now so our total weight in 130 kg. thats what the poor TTR has to pull around now.
