bike start after a long while then cut out

trying to get a project up and running  new spark plug cleaned all carb and jets air mixture screw 2 and bit turns out.

bike starts and runs for around 30 - 40 seconds then cuts out seems to run better with choke out (bit of back firing also)

 

ANYONE ANY IDEAS?? many thanks!

If you undo the float drain screw do you get a constant flow of fuel out? 

If so, it sounds like the common problem of a slightly blocked pilot jet.

Some tips here

just gave it a try and screw is badly rounded so cant turn so i think tommoro i shall try again bikes sounded a milion times better to when i previously tryed before i got new parts so will keep trying

Maybe you didn't clean the pilot jet quite enough, soak it in some solvent for a good long time and blow through with compressed air if you can, or you could just replace it, they don't cost too much

will try again tommoro if that fails then ill order a new pilot jet it has improved quite alot from a few months ago when i first started bike if all fails tomoro ill take carb off again be intresting too see inside now as i completely drained all fuel from tank and put new in thanks for reply :)

yes cheers i shall have another look at the screw tomoro as was a going a little dark :) might have a flat head that can get a grip hopefully

found a thread on here says too check accelarator pump nozzle so i shall try and see if this squirts fuel in the morning and if need be give it a good clean and re clean jets why im at it :)
