All the leaves are brown i had a nice little ride round some of the lanes close to home as I only had 2-3 hours this afternoon I wanted to take in this nice river crossing before the weather get's bad an the water level gets so high the crossing cant be made till spring was still close to 2 feet deep i have made it at about 3 feet before but that's on my Honda xr an she will keep going till your ass is in the water something yet to try on the TTr.

Hi Pug

Good to hear you are getting out!

If I am not mistaken your pic is taken after fording the River Yeo. Does this look familiar?

It's my bro' Trev on his TTR going through the River and approaching the point you took your pic biggrin

A few years earlier I dropped my TTR in the water on the same crossing and had to be taken home by a breakdown wagon disbelief

Close but out no prize this time Brian crossing is on the River Taw at North Tawton - Bondleigh real nice mile long lane can be a mud pit after a bit of rain. found a new lane out that way yesterday as well it's on the OS map's an has a unsuitable for motor vehicles sign but it's not on the DTRF map and a good 3/4 of a mile long ruffer than some of the lanes on the DTRF maps.

If you can let me know the OS coordinates of the new lane, or a pic of the map with some pointers on it, then I am happy to check it out wink

Rare find this one Brian off a main road as well missing on the DTRF maps starts at  50°47'28.45"N   3°53'5.11"W marked with a unsuitable for motor vehicles sign on the main road end it's on Google street with the sigh on it and it's gone well down hill since they took there wagon down there seen no maintenance in years the first 1/4 mile is broken tarmac mud foot deep pot holes then the grass has near total cover over what's left of the tarmac i have ridden better surfaced lanes that are on there maps biggrin

Yep that be the one Brian i did a run sheet for Mr Leah yesterday and a nudge and wink about said lane. there is a 2nd lane not to far on as well that we use to ride 35 years back and i remember it but cant find it i know it's within a mile of North Tawton an very steep climb up in some woods took a real man on a trials bike to make it up. i could never get the XL185 up there or my old man make it on the xl250 but the Beamish could make it if it was dry. and coming down over had me in A+E with a busted arm after going over the bars will carry on with the hunt for it next week.

It was travelled by the Google Maps camera car in April 2010 and looks a nice lane. wink

It must have "gone downhill" quickly in our favour. aww

If it was only that time back the camera car went down there then it has gone fast [seem's to be the way a lot of the little used roads are being looked after with are Tax money]
